Set on the shores of Slocan Lake. The discovery of mountains of silver in the 1890's brought fortune-seekers by the thousands to the Slocan Valley.  This area, rich in history, comes alive with museums in Silverton, New Denver and Sandon.

All depict the mining fervour that gave birth to this area.

Don't miss the Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre located at New Denver which commemorates the displacement of thousands of Japanese-Canadians to the area during World War II.

Or, tee up your ball at the golf courses near Winlaw and New Denver, or hike into an alpine meadow with a backdrop of Slocan Lake far below.  To capture the true flavour of the area, take the Silvery Slocan heritage tour, a 323 km scenic drive through time.
