This popular cycle and vehicle tour visits three magnificent national parks and features
attractions in Golden and Radium Hot Springs. There is even a special event named
after this tour - it takes place each May holiday weekend where over a hundred cyclists
gather to enjoy the Golden Triangle.
Banff National Park is Canada's first and includes the legendary
Lake Louise. Enjoy a hike along the picturesque lake, stroll through the
village or ride the gondola for some spectacular sightseeing.
Yoho
National Park is a stunning 1,310 sq km (507 sq mi) park offering attractions such
as the Spiral Tunnels, Takakkaw Falls - one of Canada's highest, the Natural
Bridge, Emerald Lake and the over 500 million year old Burgess Shale. The
quaint village of Field features an excellent Visitor Info Centre just off the
TransCanada Highway.
At the confluence of the Kicking Horse and Columbia Rivers, the mountainous town of Golden has become a centre for
outdoor adventure. Year-round activities can be accessed from whitewater rafting
excitement to serene backcountry lodging. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound
along the 150 km (90 mi) long Columbia Wetland habitat paralleling Hwy #95 south from
Golden.
Once you reach the junction of Hwy #93 and #95, you
will enter Kootenay National Park and
the Sinclair Canyon, where Radium
Hot Springs is nestled. You'll want to stop over here for a while to enjoy a
therapeutic soak, visit the spa or have lunch.
Continuing your travels north on Hwy #93 through Kootenay
National Park, there are several points of interest and short hikes from the
highway. A few include, Kootenay Valley, Vermilion Crossing, the Paint
Pots, Marble Canyon and the Continental Divide. Hwy #93 brings you
