- 2009 Group Golf Consumer Shows
Project Description: Kootenay Rockies Tourism
booth presentation at consumer golf shows various long-haul consumer
shows (i.e. Toronto Golf/Travel Show).
Rationale: Targeted
consumer shows in viable long haul markets.
Target Markets:
Major golf markets with good air access.
Objective: To
meet and discuss, one on one, the golf vacation opportunities in the Kootenay
Rockies.
To distribute current promotional material to regular golfers who travel. To encourage
multi-course golf vacation bookings.

Gross Budget:
$7,000
Project Guidelines: Tourism BC regional offices (i.e. Kootenay
Rockies, Vancouver Coast & Mountains) should be grouped together to form
a distinctive British Columbia presence; staffing of regional booths
must consist of regional staff; staff and related display material must
promote all aspects of the region; and regions are required to submit a
Consumer Show Report Form, an booth image and floor plan to Tourism BC
(corporate office).

Consumer Shows
Project Description:
Individual booth presentations at consumer golf shows in short and long-haul
markets (i.e. Calgary, Edmonton, Portland, Seattle, Spokane, Toronto and
Vancouver).
Rationale:
Targeted consumer shows in primary markets.
Target Markets:
Major rubber tire golf markets and good air access.
Objective: To
meet and discuss, one on one, the golf vacation opportunities in the Kootenay
Rockies region of British Columbia. To distribute current promotional material to regular golfers who travel. To
encourage immediate tee time and accommodation bookings.

Partners: 18-Hole Golf Courses; Consortiums; Chamber of Commerce; Golf
Packagers; Accommodation Properties (promoting golf packages)

Cost-Sharing: A 10x10 or 10x20 booth at all Golf Shows for
each eligible Golf Partner.
