This Provincial Park borders Alberta's Peter
Lougheed Park, the Banff National Park and the Elk Lakes Provincial Park.
The park contains wildlife values that exceeds those in National
Parks. It contains a large concentration of mountain goats and is also a key habitat
for grizzly bear, wolf, elk, bighorn sheep and trophy cutthroat trout.
This park also contains prehistoric trails as it was part of the route
of the Palliser and Overlander expedition. Hiking, fishing, climbing, horseback
riding, camping, picnicking and wildlife viewing abound. All forms of mechanical
travel, including mountain biking, are prohibited.
Facilities: Wilderness camping, pit toilets in a few
locations and trailheads, open year-round, no fees, no reservations.
