Kootenay Trout Hatchery

This hatchery produces 6 million baby trout each year and provides research facilities for fisheries biologists.  The species raised here are, Rainbow, Brook and Cutthroat.  Located just 5 miles north of Wardner on the east side of the Kootenay River, this hatchery is the 2nd largest in the province of British Columbia.
